The Department of Mathematics (D-MATH) invites applications for the above-mentioned positions. The new professors will be members of the Seminar of Applied Mathematics within the Department. 

We seek individuals with an outstanding research record and a demonstrated ability to direct research work of the highest quality in the areas of computational and applied mathematics, including but not limited to data-driven numerical modeling, scientific machine learning and AI for science and engineering, computational uncertainty quantification, optimization and inverse problems, computational aspects of stochastic (partial) differential equations, randomized numerical algorithms, structure-aware and structure-preserving numerical methods for continuum field models, and hardware-aware numerical algorithms on large-scale HPC platforms and emerging architectures such as quantum, analog, and neuromorphic computing.

Teaching responsibilities will involve undergraduate (in German or English) and graduate courses (in English) for students of mathematics, computational science and engineering (CSE), and other departments of ETH Zurich.

Assistant professorships have been established to promote the careers of early-career scientists. ETH Zurich implements a tenure track system equivalent to that of other top international universities.

The Department of Mathematics (D-MATH) at ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned positions. We are looking for two mathematicians with a focus on algebra, geometry, or topology.

Successful candidates should demonstrate an outstanding research record and a proven ability to direct research work of highest quality. Willingness to participate in collaborative work both within and outside the school is expected. The new professors will be responsible, together with other members of the department, for teaching undergraduate (German or English) and graduate level courses (English) for students of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering.
