How to find us
The Department of Mathematics is located in the historic Main Building (HG) on the ETH Zurich Zentrum Campus.
Travelling from Zurich main station (HB)
Take tram line 6 from "Bahnhofstrasse/HB" in direction of "Zoo" and get off at "ETH/Universitätsspital". The journey takes 6 minutes.
Take tram line 10 from "Bahnhofplatz/HB" in direction of "Zürich Flughafen, Fracht" or "Bahnhof Oerlikon" and get off at "ETH/Universitätsspital". Or get off at "Central" and take the Polybahn to Polyterrasse. The journey takes about 6 to 10 minutes.
You will need a ticket for zone 110 (city of Zurich).
Travelling from Zurich Airport
By tram: If you plan to come directly to the Department you can take tram line 10 from the airport in direction of "Zürich Bahnhofplatz/HB" and get off at "ETH/Universitätsspital". The journey takes 30 minutes.
By train: If you prefer to go to the city center first (Hauptbahnhof, main station) you can take any of the trains leaving from the train station at the airport in direction of "Zürich HB". Trains leave about every 10 minutes, the journey takes around 10 to 15 minutes.
By taxi: A taxi ride from the airport to the city center takes about 20 to 30 minutes (depending on traffic) and costs about CHF 70.00.
Tickets for both the tram and the train can be obtained at the ticket vending machines or at the ticket counters at the airport train station. A single ticket from the airport to the city center or to ETH costs CHF 6.60 (zones 110 and 121).
