Avelio Sepúlveda: Francisco Aranda-Ordaz Prize

We are delighted to announce that Dr Avelio Sepúlveda was awarded the 2019 Francisco Aranda-Ordaz Prize in probability.

Avelio Sepúlveda received the prize for his dissertation entitled: "Exit sets of the continuum Gaussian free field in two dimensions and related questions". He was a doctoral student under the supervision of Wendelin Werner from 2014 to 2017.

The Francisco Aranda-Ordaz prize is awarded every two/three years for one thesis in probability and one thesis in statistics written by students from Latin America regardless of the country of the university offering the degree. The prize is given by the SLAPEM and co-sponsored by the Bernoulli Society.
