Paul Embrechts: honorary doctorate

Cass Business School has awarded Professor Paul Embrechts with the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa).

On Thursday, 16 March, around six million enthusiastic mathematics school pupils from 75 countries across the globe will once again be gearing up to take part in the Kangaroo competition. Approximately 400 Swiss schools and more than 30,000 pupils will also be participating in the competition.

The two junior scientists Edgars Jakobsons and Patrick Zöchbauer have received the 2017 Walter Saxer Prize in recognition of their exceptional Master's and doctoral theses.
Alessandro Carlotto: inaugural lecture

On 2 March, Professor Alessandro Carlotto gave his inaugural lecture entitled: "Isolated gravitational systems: four centuries of mathematical challenges". He has been assistant professor at the Department since September 2016.
