Matthew Kwan: Dénes König Prize

We are delighted to announce that Matthew Kwan was awarded the 2020 Dénes König Prize.

Matthew Kwan, Szegő Assistant Professor of Stanford University, received the prize for his contributions to Ramsey Theory, in particular establishing the "richness properties" of Ramsey graphs.

In 2019 Matthew Kwan has received an ETH Medal for his doctoral thesis entitled: "Probabilistic reasoning in combinatorics". He was a doctoral student under the supervision of Benny Sudakov in the combinatorics group from 2015 to 2018.

The SIAM Activity Group on Discrete Mathematics awards the external pageDénes König Prize every two years to an individual or individuals in their early career for outstanding research contributions in an area of discrete mathematics, as evidenced by a publication in a peer-reviewed journal within the three calendar years prior to the award year.
