Master in Applied Mathematics

The Seminar for Applied Mathematics is responsible for teaching this Master, together with faculty from other units of the department and with faculty from other departments of the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich.

Mathematicians who have followed the applied mathematics programme will first and foremost be strong mathematicians with an excellent command of mathematical modelling and computational techniques. This requires mastery of advanced mathematical and numerical methods from several core mathematical disciplines called focus areas.

Judicious development and use of mathematical models in industry and the sciences require the education of mathematicians who are able to bring to bear mathematical methods and interact with experts in application areas outside of mathematics.
