Abstract There are many natural metrics that one can put on the collection of all exact (closed connected) Lagrangians of a given Liouville manifold: Lagrangian Hofer metric, spectral metric, shadow metric, etc. However, in most instances, the known properties of the ensuing metric space are quite limited, as these spaces tend to be quite unruly. For this reason, I have previously studied the subspace of Lagrangians respecting an appropriate notion of "geometric boundedness"—a much more manageable space as it turns out. In this talk, I will present some new results on the metric properties in this smaller space of geometrically bounded Lagrangians, where all these metrics behave essentially the same. As applications, we will get some yet-unknown topological properties of the space of all exact Lagrangians of a Liouville manifold.

Abstract I’ll discuss the connection between (sub)leading asymptotics of the Floer theoretic link spectral invariants and the classical Calabi and Ruelle invariants along with their connections to the algebraic structure of conservative homeomorphism groups. Based on joint joint works with Cristofaro-Gardiner, Humilière, Mak and Smith.

Abstract The structure of a topological space can be studied by the existence of simplices and their relations. An important topic in Symplectic Geometry is understanding intersections of Lagrangian submanifolds. The Fukaya category of a symplectic manifold categorifies this intersection theory. Biran and Cornea proved that Lagrangian cobordisms induce exact simplices in the Fukaya category of certain compact Lagrangian submanifolds in certain symplectic manifolds. In this talk, we transfer this result to include certain non-compact Lagrangian submanifolds. The second part discusses how many exact simplices can be recovered by Lagrangian cobordisms. One way to measure this is by comparing the Lagrangian cobordism group to the Grothendieck group of the Fukaya category. We compute the Lagrangian cobordism groups of Weinstein manifolds and get a first example where the two groups do not agree.

Abstract In this talk, we will consider a stabilized version of the fundamental existence problem of symplectic structures (McDuff--Salamon, Problem 1). Given a formal symplectic manifold, i.e. a closed manifold M with a non-degenerate 2-form and a non-degenerate second cohomology class, we investigate when its natural stabilization to M x T^2 can be realized by a symplectic form. We show that this can be done whenever the formal symplectic manifold admits a symplectic divisor. It follows that the product with T^2 of an almost symplectic blow up admits a symplectic form. Another corollary is that if a formal symplectic 4-manifold M, which either satisfies that its positive/negative second betti numbers are both at least 2, or that is simply connected, then M x T^2 is symplectic. For instance (CP^2#CP^2#CP^2)xT^2 is symplectic, even though CP^2#CP^2#CP^2 is not, by work of Taubes. These results follow from a stabilized version of Eliashberg--Murphy's h-principle for symplectic cobordisms, which makes no assumptions on overtwistedness at the boundary. This is joint work with Fabio Gironella, Fran Presas, Lauran Toussaint.
