Info for alumni
Q: Is there a way to keep in touch with my colleagues after I've finished the MSc Statistics?
A: Yes! ETH Alumni offers a platform for keeping in touch. You will get a life-long forwarding e-mail address. Furthermore, ETH Alumni organizes events (such as the Homecoming Day, Alumni Ball, a Sailing Regatta, etc) where you can meet old friends.
There exists even a special group for mathematicians and physicists called ETH Alumni Math • Phys.
Q: I want to talk to ETH Alumni in a specific job field and get tipps for my career start. How can I get in touch with those people?
A: Join ETH Alumni. They have a huge data base with Alumni indicating their degree and also (in many cases) their occupational details. Just
pick the person you are interested in and contact her for help.
Q: After finishing the MSc Statistics, I will move to a different city/country. Can someone give me advice on jobs and life in this new city/country?
A: Yes! Join ETH Alumni and you get access to regional chapters of ETH Alumni. There are Regional/City Chapters within Switzerland and there are City Chapters all over the world (e.g. Shanghai, San Franciso, Olso). The members of these Chapters have different degrees, but all
graduated from ETH Zurich. Thus, they are the ideal contact for helping you set up your career and life at the new destination.
As they usually meet in a casual way, but mostly on a regular basis, it’s the best way to keep in touch with people knowing the Swiss culture and to ask questions, which might pop up by moving into a different country.
