(Report number 2008-06)

Abstract
We have developed a high precision library based on a proposed IEEE format for quad-precision numbers. The library uses the unique vector machine instructions found on the IBM Cell B.E. processor to efficiently manipulate quad word data. Usage, performance, and verification of results are described.
