Visitors
The FIM welcomes about 250 to 300 visitors per year. The visits range from short stays of a couple of days to longer stays of several months. Visitors are hosted in one of our 13 guest offices, and they profit from the embedded location of the institute within the Department of Mathematics. If we have office space available we are also helping out with hosting visitors that are not invited through the FIM but directly by members of the Department.
How to become a guest at the FIM
The role of the FIM is to invite mathematicians who are specifically collaborating with one or several of the members of the Department of Mathematics at ETH Zurich or of the Mathematical Institute of the University of Zurich. Consequently, the FIM only invites visitors upon the direct request of a member of the mentioned institutions. If you would like to spend some time at the FIM we therefore invite you to first get in contact with possible collaborators at ETH or the University of Zurich. If we receive a request from one of the Department members we will be happy to consider the inquiry.
