Competition for school classes

Every three years, the Department organises the goMATH competition for school classes. In summer 2024, the competition embarked on a new round. The entries submitted will be presented in an exhibition in the main hall of ETH Zurich from 12 to 27 May 2025.

Origami Challenge

In this challenge, the participating school classes followed in the footsteps of the Faltanis, origami artists who specialise in folding geometric objects.

The three-dimensional works of art that the Faltanis create are made entirely of paper. In order to create such a beautiful symmetrical object, the Faltanis work closely together and it takes a lot of skill and co-operation to fold these symmetrical beauties.

Over 90 classes took up the Origami Challenge in summer 2024 and almost sixty submitted an object by the end of February 2025. These will now be graded by the goMATH jury and exhibited in the main hall of ETH Zurich from 12 to 27 May 2025.
