Sara van de Geer: Royal decoration
His Majesty the King of the Netherlands appointed Sara van de Geer to Knight in the Order of Oranje-Nassau for her outstanding contributions to mathematics and statistics.
With this royal decoration the Netherlands acknowledges Sara van de Geer's excellent service for the mathematical community in the Netherlands and worldwide.
Mr. Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Kees Smit Sibinga, representative of the Dutch embassy in Berne, presented the royal decoration on 3 December 2015 at the occasion of the colloquium Four facets of modern statistics, and a surprise! held at the Seminar for Statistics.
