Özlem Imamoglu’s research focus is on number theory.

Özlem Imamoglu has been an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Mathematics since 2005.

She was born in Turkey in 1965.

She concluded her studies in electrical engineering at the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey, 1987 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. She earned a M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, CA, USA and was awarded a PhD in Mathematics from the same university in 1992. In the same year she took up the position of J.W.Y. Research Instructor at the Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, USA.

In 1994 Özlem Imamoglu spent four months as a member at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute in Berkeley, CA, USA.

1995-1997 She was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, CA, USA, before being appointed Assistant Professor at ETH Zurich in 1997.

Özlem Imamoglu was an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1999-2003 (9/2000-6/2001 visiting professor at the Sabanci University in Istanbul, Turkey).

She was Assistant Professor at ETH Zurich 2002-2005 and Associate Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara June 2003 – June 2004.
